HOW TO CLEAN AND PROTECT RUBBER FLOOR MATS
HOW TO CLEAN AND PROTECT RUBBER FLOOR MATS
Floor mats are essential to any vehicle in helping to keep dirt and contaminants off the actual carpet of the car, however, over time they become extremely dirty and stained. Due to constant contact with your feet, floor mats are some of the dirtiest parts of the car interior. This is why it is wise to always take time to clean your floor mats periodically to ensure they never get too dirty and start fading or cracking. Follow these easy steps to clean and protect your rubber floor mats!
We recommend using a vacuum, Mat ReNew Cleaner and Protectant, and a stiff scrubbing brush with a drill attachment to clean your rubber floor mats. Begin by vacuuming the floor mat to remove loose dirt, sand or any other contaminants. Next, spray Mat ReNew directly onto the surface of the rubber floor mat and then wait a minute as it penetrates the surface. Now, use the Scrubbing Brush Drill Attachment to scrub the floor mat and remove all embedded stains while also restoring the finish. This will help enhance the overall longevity of the mat as well. Scrub the mat for as long as necessary to remove all stains, dirt, and grime.
To finish, use a microfiber towel to remove the excess product and residue. You can use a hose to wash off the excess as well if you have access to one. You can also let the floor mat air dry if you wish. Once you’ve buffed off all the excess, the floor mat will have that dark factory finish again. It’s also covered in a nice layer of protectant too to prevent fading, discoloration, and cracking. Now your floor mat is clean, protected and looks brand new!
